In Pollock ‘01 I re-created, shot by shot, Hans Namuth’s famous film about Jackson Pollock. Using myself to perform the role of Pollock, I am emulating Pollock’s every move in the film, as I make a glitter version of one of his famous drip paintings. The ‘film’ is shot entirely on digital video, with digitized film grain, and the imported sound of a 16 mm projector. Pollock '01 was created as part of a larger installation, "Revival", in which I recreated 50 modernist masterworks entirely in glitter.
